Chatham United Soccer Pathway
Below is a pathway to development in soccer that we believe is appropriate for the vast majority of players in Chatham looking to play Travel Soccer with an eventual goal of playing in High School or even beyond:
3U-4U
Programs run in Chatham in conjunction with the Chatham Recreation Department and Chatham United Soccer. These are run by our training partners from United Soccer Academy and consist of "Parent & Me" Classes for 2-3 year olds as well as their successful "Squirts" Program for 3-5 year olds.
Experts say small, fun local classes are best for young children. United Soccer Academy has a long history of success in providing these soccer classes to Chatham kids and the players always have tons of fun while beginning their soccer development.
5U-7U
Our Development/Recreation Program (Fall)
Our Developmental/Recreation Program is in-town and organized by grade so kids can play with their friends (this is critical at this age). The kids can enjoy soccer first and foremost while learning valuable skills. This program is run with both parent coaches and professional trainers from United Soccer Academy.
In addition, there are programs run in Chatham in conjunction with the Chatham Recreation Department and Chatham United Soccer. These are run by our training partners from United Soccer Academy and consist of "Squirts" or "Senior Squirts" Programs for 3-5 or 5-6 year olds.
Experts say small, fun local classes are best for young children. United Soccer Academy has a long history of success in providing these soccer classes to Chatham kids and the players always have tons of fun while beginning their soccer development.
8U
Our 8U Technical Development Program (Fall and Spring)
The 8U TDP is a comprehensive program led by professional trainers from Maestro Soccer and designed to develop a strong, comprehensive skills foundation, an understanding of tactics, and a passion for the game that will position the player for success at the 9U level and above. The 8U Program is run as an Academy where they players are pooled together for training (Academy pooled training is considered best practice at this age). There are options for 4v4 festival play against other towns/clubs as well.
The Winter 8U TDP is run in the same manner as our overall 8U TDP however it is optional and not a part of the Fall/Spring 8U TDP.
